To color your hair with henna, you will need on the average 4 oz. If your hair is long and/or thick you might need more to cover all your hair.
Everyone's hair reacts different to henna so if you are attached to your hair coming out a very specific color, you might want to test a strand of hair before doing your whole head.
We know a woman from the Middle East who told us that she added coffee or black tea to the liquid that she added the dried henna to, to make a paste. The consistence she liked was that of oatmeal. She even added plain yogurt to condition hair.
Completely cover all your hair with the smooshy mixture. Cover your hair with a cut-up plastic bag that you tie up on top of your head. Put a hat or wool cap over the plastic bag for 1-3 hours. Rinse well in the shower or over the tub,m towel dry and enjoy the new you!
Applying henna is fun to do with a friend and besides, you might need help in cleaning up some that might have landed on the floor.
Some people like to put some oil around the temples and where you DON'T want the henna to color. Just be sure that you don't get the oil on your hair because henna won't color oily hair.
